Buddha's five hundred disciples
Actual size

The place called the Buddha's five hundred disciples of Makido. Buddha's five hundred disciples are what is stone-statue-of-the-Buddha faith by the public who was in fashion from the first at the Edo period etc., and was going to obtain the peacefulness of the heart by worshipping a stone statue of the Buddha and worshipping an ancestor when the popular heart is uneasy. Seemingly Rakan will say the thing of the Saint who got spiritual enlightenment, and Buddha's five hundred disciples are never meanings, such as mass for the dead of a deceased person without any surviving relatives. The Buddha's five hundred disciples of Makido have many stalagmite made of limewater which drips on the ground like a bamboo shoot (bamboo shoot). I hear that that situation looked also just like Buddha's five hundred disciples, and, probably, this name was attached.
