Koyasan is also a holy place of esoteric Buddhism and the Shingon sect, and there is Kongobu-ji of the head temple of the Shingon sect. It is beginning that Kuukai was confined in here Koyasan at the Heian period, and considered it as the place of practice, and I have deified Kobo Daishi, alias this Kuukai, in the inner shrine in Koyasan. |
